When a student struggles with a new topic, an earlier gap may be part of the problem. We connect current schoolwork with the foundations behind it, then help students practise applying what they have learnt to different questions.

Targeted support across Years 7–10
Mathematics
Number, algebra, graphs, geometry, measurement, statistics and probability. Students practise accurate working, problem-solving and checking whether an answer makes sense. Year 10 students can also strengthen the algebra and functions needed for senior mathematics.
English
Reading comprehension, text analysis, paragraph and essay structure, evidence selection and written expression. Students learn to turn ideas into a clear response, rather than simply write more.
Science
Making sense of concepts, interpreting data and graphs, applying formulas and explaining scientific reasoning. Bring current topics and school feedback so support can address what the student needs now.
Understand the maths starting point
Maths students complete a 45-minute diagnostic test covering the content expected at their year level. We use the results to identify strengths, gaps in understanding and the support required, so teaching can target the areas most relevant to their progress.
This diagnostic is separate from the free 15-minute academic assessment conversation.
What purposeful learning looks like
Clear explanations and guided examples help students understand a method. Independent questions then show what they can do without prompting. Reviewing mistakes helps identify what needs further practice. Carefully prepared notes, questions and fully worked solutions support revision between sessions.

Paired: two students share a tutor for personalised support at the centre.
Small group: structured teaching and practice in a supportive learning setting at the centre.
