Know the content. Know how to use it.
Recognising a formula or following a worked example is only the starting point. Students also need to choose an approach, interpret information, explain their reasoning and review errors. Tutoring connects these skills with the demands of their current subjects and units.
Strengthen the core concepts. Revisit difficult content and the prerequisite skills that make new learning easier to follow.
Practise assessment decisions. Work on command words, method selection, clear working and time management in relevant practice tasks.
Use feedback purposefully. Review errors and worked solutions to identify what deserves attention before the next SAC or examination.
VCE subjects available across Units 1–4
General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics
Concept development, mathematical fluency, applications and assessment practice. Students work on choosing methods, interpreting graphs and models, showing reasoning and checking answers.
English
Develop interpretation, argument, evidence selection and clear written responses for relevant school tasks. Practice focuses on turning an understanding of a text or issue into a structured response.
Biology and Chemistry
Connect concepts, interpret stimulus material and data, and develop precise scientific explanations. Students practise using the information in a question to support a relevant answer.
Physics
Strengthen conceptual understanding, mathematical application, graph interpretation and explanations of physical situations. Learn to connect a calculation with the physics it represents.
Preparation that goes beyond doing more questions
Clear explanations establish the ideas. Guided examples make a method visible. Independent and unfamiliar questions reveal whether a student can apply it. Reviewing mistakes then shapes the next practice task. Carefully prepared notes, assessments and fully worked solutions support this process.
Share upcoming SAC topics, school instructions and feedback so sessions can focus on the student’s priorities. Units 1 and 2 can build foundations for senior study; Units 3 and 4 support can target current content, SAC preparation and examination practice.
Find the maths skills that need attention
Maths students complete a 45-minute diagnostic test covering the expected level of content for their year level. We use it to identify strengths and gaps in understanding, helping tutoring target the areas most relevant to their progress.
This maths diagnostic is separate from the free 15-minute academic assessment conversation.
Support that fits your subjects and circumstances

Questions students and parents ask
Do you support both Units 1 and 2 and Units 3 and 4?
Yes. Support is available across Units 1–4 in the subjects listed above. Tell us the student’s subjects and units so we can discuss suitable tutoring.
Can sessions focus on SACs and exams?
Yes. Support can include content review, targeted questions, exam-style practice and reviewing errors. Share the relevant task information and school feedback to help us set priorities.
Is tutoring only for students who are struggling?
No. Students may want to close gaps, consolidate a topic or work on more demanding applications. The starting point depends on their current understanding and goals.
Can I try a useful resource before enquiring?
Yes. Get the free VCE Study and Assessment Readiness Pack for a practical starting point. You can also book the initial assessment without an obligation to enrol.
